Margot McMahon

A lifelong environmentalist, and internationally awarded sculptor, Margot McMahon sculpts, writes, and paints the interconnectivity of forms of nature. The Smithsonian and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago History Museum, Chicago Botanical Gardens, and Soka Gakkai (Japan) collected her sculptures. Aquarius Press published IF TREES COULD TALK, a 2022 National Book Award (NFPW) recipient, RESIST! A VISUAL HISTORY OF PROTEST, AIRDRIE, and MAC AND IRENE: A WWII SAGA in The Margot McMahon Collection. She has a MFA ’84 from Yale University, BA in Environmental Journalism from Hamline University and has taught at Yale University, Yale U-Norfolk, The Art Institute of Chicago, and DePaul University.
