"Temporal Chest Hair (TCH)" is Lee's ongoing project in which he offers body shaving services in exchange for participants’ hair, exploring the relationship between race, desire, gender, and labor. The two t-shirt designs come from two different iterations of the project. The abstract rainbow design is related to “Temporal Chest Hair—thinking of Valie Export,” in which Lee shaves participants’ body hair and invites them to glue their hair to his chest. The realistic white pattern is related to “Temporal Chest Hair—A to Z,” in which Lee exclusively shaves white men whose first names begin with each letter of the English alphabet.
