(Pilsen)
Ariadna Ginez is a Mexican-American ceramicist based in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. She celebrates beauty, femininity, and romance in her work, exploring them as issues of equity. She works with stoneware and porcelain to create sculptural pieces and functional products. She has inhabited many different worlds and her work interrogates who is afforded access to beauty, serenity, and luxury. She is interested in exploring how groups that don’t “fit” traditional beauty standards reclaim and re-imagine them for themselves, their communities, and their surroundings.
