Lumpen Magazine is a news and culture magazine featuring the work of emerging and established artists and writers. It features editorials, interviews, and reviews focused on current events and emerging cultural trends. Published monthly until 1998, it is now quarterly.

"I would like to think of each one of the articles in this issue of Lumpen as a shock wave bouncing back to Chicago from the Haymarket Affair. I hope that this sharing of experiences and tactics fighting neofascist capitalism around the world from Rockford to Maputo, from Delhi to Devon Avenue, will give a few fellow Chicagoans ideas on how to pick up the torch and move forwards towards a world where, at the very least, everyone has ‘Eight hours for work, eight hours for rest, and eight hours few what you will."

Edited by Brian Mier with Contributions by Gabriel Deslandes, Hüseyin Dogru, Fiona Edwards, Roberto Zapata, Camila Escalante, Debojit Banerjee, Gourab Ghosh, Austin González, Maria Gorete, Peregrine Kodiak, Paulo Moreira Leite, Ruslana Lichtzier, Lily Lynch, Chuck Mertz, Ezequiel Moraes, Ene Obi, Aline Piva, Xiomara Rodgriguez, Ollie Vargas, and Sandrine Woinzeck.
