Officially launched in summer 2019, Ugly Things et al. is the ceramic practice of Chicago-based artist Chen Zou. She hand-builds sculptural ceramic vessels that can be used as both functional ware and unique art objects. Coming from a visual arts background of contemporary art and filmmaking, Zou approaches clay with a playful and experimental attitude.
