This monoprint started out as a drawing on newsprint that was then raced, cut out, inked, and then transferred to paper. Each print is one of a kind and takes on its own character and texture through the monotype printing process.

Joe Kraft is a working artist and teacher in Chicago. While his primary medium is clay, Joe’s practice is rooted in drawing, which drives all other parts of his artistic work. Drawing is a way for him to access his emotional experiences, creating a vocabulary with which to work.
