These destroyers are made from repurposed wood, which mostly came from a discarded futon bed frame. Wood was cut down and hand painted. The imagery on the Felix destroyer is inspired by the "nose art" found on WW2 military aircraft, and Azteca by indigenous Mexican Art. Compean mostly worked in paintings and prints in the past. He was active in the Pilsen scene for years showing work in small galleries to The National Museum Of Mexican Art.
